JULIEN ERNY, PhD
R&D Manager

Position
Julien Erny was engineer R&D at e(ye)BRAIN since August 2009. He is now the R&D manager.

Education
Julien has got an engineering degree in computer science and applied mathematics from the ENSEEIHT (Toulouse) in 2004. He also holds a PhD in artificial intelligence from Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse) in 2008, specializing in computational neuroscience.

Work Experience
2009: Development Engineer, Instinct-Maker, IRIT/UT1, Toulouse

Research
Julien's research involved the modelling of brain information processing in the context of low and high-level cognitive functions (such as speech sound perception, categorizing perception, and executive functions). He particularly focused on integrating biologically detailed models scaled to neurons with more abstract models of cognitive functions in the context of an intermediate approach using models from both the fields of computational neuroscience and artificial intelligence.
